AMD just announced its Ryzen 9 7950X, Ryzen 9 7900X, R7 7700X, and R5 7600X CPU specs, prices, release dates, and gave some details about its Zen 4 architecture. The company’s new AM5 motherboards with X670, X670E, and eventual B-series chipsets will be launching alongside the Ryzen 7000 CPUs on September 27, 2022.

Watch our video of a DELIDDED Ryzen 9 7950X:

UNTIL 9/17/22, we are giving 10% of ALL GN STORE REVENUE to Cat Angels, a no-kill cat shelter local to us that we support and have visited. They will use the donations for taking care of shelter cats and for adoptions. Grab a 4-Pack of GN Coasters, a Modmat, or a toolkit here!

This puts AMD into direct competition with Intel’s 12th Gen Alder Lake CPUs and its upcoming 13 series CPUs, like the 13900K. Benchmarks of the AMD R9 7950X, R9 7900X, R7 7700X, and R5 7600X will come soon, closer to launch, when we’ll have our reviews of the new AMD Zen 4 CPUs. As for pricing, the range starts at $300 and goes up to $700; motherboards are cited to start at $125 for B650. We think AMD’s biggest weak spot here will be its low-end 7600X, which will mostly run into value proposition challenges with AM5 motherboards and DDR5 RAM, as it doesn’t support DDR4 as a cheaper option. We’ll have additional videos soon about AMD Ryzen 7000 overclocking, architecture, and more.
